No Churn Mango Ice Cream was in my bucket list for this summer. Fortunately, we got best quality of mangoes delivered to our door step this season. Mango ice cream tastes best if fresh fruit pulp is added. You should definitely try this recipe once this summer as not many ingredients are required to prepare…

4 years ago,I opened this account to blog.

yet

I only started to blog

In august

after the experience of arranged marriage proposals

totally surprised by the chaos of emotions experienced

as well as the unique gift of

awareness.

how are my boundaries?

it is in deep moments that great changes begin.

and in those deep moments

I feel like running away

escaping

ideally I would love to take a road trip, flight, journey to another place

to be with all the emotions

and return back when i feel at peace.

yet

that opportunity to physically escape is not always available

yet the creative mind is

writing and time in nature does that for me.

how are all of you?

the lock downs

and the emotions we are facing within…and outside.

it is an intense time.

i feel glad and relieved that many of you are here blogging.

I know healthcare essential workers are deep within… so much

and releasing through art has helped me.

what I am grateful for

is there is a whole community of like minded in the healthcare community doing the same.

I have been asked to submit some of my artwork

alongside more healthcare essential workers.

i will re blogging a few of the posts,

before mine is presented july 20 2020

the art I am sharing in the blog post is

the gifts of covid spring.

a prompt that I was writting to in a challenge called sen to paper primer.

What are the gifts? the good events that you have been finally able to devote time to

during this time of lockdown, home sheltering stay home order

that perhaps you did not have time for during life before covid19 pandemic.

??????

my answer is in a piece of watercolor bling contour artwork.

To be revealed july 20 2020.

reblog:Rejection Has a Silver Lining: 3 Reasons to Be Grateful for a Universally Hated Experience — Positively Positive

If you literally can’t think of a single reason to be grateful for rejection, I’m going to tell you that I couldn’t either at first. As a human being and as a writer, I’ve experienced my fair share. It often doesn’t feel fair. It certainly doesn’t feel good, and I can honestly say that my first…

Rejection Has a Silver Lining: 3 Reasons to Be Grateful for a Universally Hated Experience — Positively Positive

A few more days until summer solstice,as we complete Covid spring.

There has been so much within that emerges during covid19 sheltering at home,

serving at work,

or not serving at work.

losing a job

applying endlessly for a job

and interviewing during this strange uncertain time.

Lotus pond from my local botanical garden.

which I did yesterday.shortest sweetest interview of my life.

I miss latte time

what have you gained during this time.?

for some of us…

we gained a view of the shadowy

we gained a view of what already was not working….

we gained a view of flaws.,harsh truth and a deep need for renovation.

not innovation…more like demolition and rebuilding with new materials.

so time to strengthen the foundation of basics.

For some of us we have seen loved ones leave the earth too early from this time of panic.

For most of us

we know

after this we are never gonna be the same again.

bonfire time

so much will change

and within we carry the wonder of what is ahead.

I am deeply holding hope that all of you are safe, healthy, getting adequate sleep, eating healthy food, keeping social online and deeply looking within and healing.

this is a time to work on maintaining our health and immunity.

maintaining immunity with good sleep, good nutrient rich food, time in nature, working out, sunshine and loving conversation with loved ones that matter.

centerpiece-time to tend to the core.

I would like to thank each of you who passes by and reads my blog.

it has been a journey.

In this time of covid 19 i gathered the courage to start selling my art.

so here is a self portrait

for a gutsy price.

I will reblogging a few of the nice writing you all express too.

not consistently,

just the time i happen to log in.

as i close this post with excitement for the next collaboration…

I am sending good thoughts to all of you where ever you are…

in these tender times of 2020.

We all have a past. There are good and bad memories associated with it. When the waves cross our mind, negative ones click more easily than positive. Lack of trust is one of them. a hint of the behind the scenes of my paintings….

Anyone that knows me…
remembers my guilty pleasure of pausing at sunset to watch the dance of color across the
sky.

my art work is just a summary of a lifetime of sunrises, sunsets and exhilarating colors of nature that dance in the sunshine.

May you take some time to pause, gaze and breathe in the color placed with the love that remains…
maybe you will find a piece that will add peace to a dear friend’s dark gloomy floating cloud o
f uncertainty.

Here’s me taking a chance and setting my “creations” free to fly, move and edge to the future we now renovate.

By Don P. | Guest Contributor On April 28, 2007, my life as I knew it came to an abrupt halt and turned 180 degrees. I had a massive heart attack that day, and a triple bypass surgery the following day. To really make my story special, I then flat-lined over a hundred times during […]

Thirteen Years of Training For A Pandemic — Phoebe, MD: Medicine + Poetry

Selling some artwork inspired by “intro to portraiture”class.

Hi everyone!

how are you doing?

the lock down, the work at home situation and

outer freedoms have been reduced.

how are you all feeling?

your mind?

your health routine?

I hope all of you are healthy, keeping mentally occupied with hope and are creating peace in your heart.

wow

such a heavy time.20171101_194710844

especially with all the heaviness of this week.

I have been feeling tender and writing a lot for myself.

the black lives matter….cause…activism…directs my gaze to my own anti blackness influences…maybe even a de colonialism gaze…

and points to my own journey of arranged marriage themes…

yes there were painful skin color issues in conversation…

I am grateful to have watched and re watched the movie “Mississippi Masala” with Mira Nair.Time to time I go back to and watch when I was faced with these topics.

I think a lot of south Asians can relate..and a lot of south Asians that grew up and migrated from Kenya.Uganda, dwelling in the Caribbean also.

so messy…the emotions in this week.

and so needed for the tender conversations held in community..

to heal and the generous out pour of compassionate love toward our dear African American friends.

I know there are so many times…i was not able to stand in my truth..and an African American gal or guy would give me a shoulder to lean on.

They are bold, they are funny and they provide so much support as allies.

I am grateful for them…and I do not and will not tolerate the injustice done to them.

I cannot imagine America without African American black people.

Still so much to ponder in my deep heart.

I just wanted to share my thoughts here.

I wanted to extend my art to reach the homes, hearts or spaces where they may be needed at this time….

or perhaps after this uncertain time completes.

we will never be the same.

so many changes are in motion.

My only intention is that when humanity return back

May we return back to an artful world that finds a better way to live in harmony with nature.

May all heal inside as well as outside.

let me introduce you to an art piece inspired by intro to portraiture lessons

Arise from the depths of your despair

created with watercolor while creating crashed symbols portrait.

the beauty about watercolor is it flows in magical ways as it dries.

what I saw later is the arm of the goddess receiving assistance from her left side.

lightning and an animal sidekick show up in assistance.

I felt great courage while gazing.

and may you and your friends feel that too.

available on https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/49697199?asc=u

Now to the next piece from this series….

Goddess blesses the offering

the right side

 the giving hand

the other side of the watercolor self portrait

dried in a different way then planned.

well in watercolor there is no plan

it is play

I always imagine a motherly goddess generous with compassion giving just what we need.

I have experienced that too from many around me at magical moments in the challenges of life.

may you and your friends feel this intention of love from this image in this shop

available here:https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/49671583

and that brings me to the last piece of this series..

something i deeply miss at this time of the covid19 pandemic is air travel, international travel, global explorations.

how about you?

I know after seeing nature heal so much.

my plans for travel have changed,my agenda during travel is being reformatted as I absorb a more heart led intention.

Really grateful for the books, stories, blogs that reminisce travel.

Created from an inspiration from travel to morocco via memories of friends stories, magazine pages of now and a summery of escape novels i have read in this life time over a cup of Moroccan mint tea.. Pose and angles carry the power of geometry allowing for the eyes to go on a journey.

The lesson 5 of Back in the brack: brings contemplation on pose

the solo task allowed us artist to place  people in each new scene and as we mix and match reflect on how the impression of the person’s pose and presence alters the art piece.

I created 3 magazine collages…and finally painted a summary of the feeling that remained from the experienced lesson of a journey.

art available from sale here: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/48897652

Today we’re talking with Chandrima Sarkar, the very gifted women behind the fabulous blog Not out of the box. Chandrima is a recipe developer, food stylist, and food blogger from Navi Mumbai, who has taken social media by storm with her creative, flavorful and eye-catching food photography.

1.Tell us a bit about your family, career background, and the path that led you to set up Not out of the Box?

Born and brought up in the suburb of Kolkata in a Bengali family, I studied Bengali literature and wanted to pursue Masters from Calcutta University, but I just took an impromptu decision not to continue with higher studies on the final day of university admission. As I had a keen interest in creating storytelling with high visual impact, I studied computer graphics in early 2000. The keen interest of Fine Art pushed me to pursue a career in…

reblog:I need to keep reading this. How to Set Boundaries — Ron Tamir Nehr

Do you struggle with boundaries? Setting boundaries is about more than just personal and emotional space. Many people struggle with boundaries, but it isn’t as obvious as you might think. A boundary struggle can manifest as a difficulty saying no or as social anxiety. You might feel guilty about speaking your mind if it upsets someone. Because of this, you might put the needs of others before your own.

via How to Set Boundaries — Ron Tamir Nehr

Been so long, how are you all during these uncertain times?

I had the pleasure with chatting with one of you

and all we exchanged was positive golden words.

despite being in different countries

different time zones

different restrictions.

the sadness and the gratefulness is the same.

20171101_194710844

we all are grieving a loss of freedom.

and with the inner freedom,we have this opportunity

…we all are facing ourselves:

our minds

our bodies

our hangups

everything that was not grounded..20171116_165631480

we have this time to gaze at..ourselves,deeply

and have an inner dialogue20171106_111854

In this time along with my peers

I have been called to serve

serve family

serve health

and serve the work I am here to do

Instead,

I find myself

writing a lot

to myself,

reflecting on life,

or

creating

20180130_173849

creating as release,as a way to honor memories of loved ones who have passed away suddenly in 2020 or creating the joy I have from memories…or long to create.2019-05-17

one last thing before i go

please dear ones

eat good food (vitamin rich)

keep fit

enjoy sunshine

and keep your immunity up with at least 6-8 hours of good sleep.

I find myself rebooting by being with nature…

bare feet on the grass

gazing at flowers near by

looking at the branches of leaves

having a few plants in my home workspace..

and listening to the sweet songs of the birds tending to their nest.Untitled design

I am lucky that for mental health we are encouraged to visit beach or park from 6m-10am.

still keeping distance and still covering mouth and nose if people are around.

…and all I love is closed.
